West already announced he plans to join and work to change the group's very progressive agenda; there are rumours that Mr. Scott is uninterested in going where he isn't wanted. | #7 Not to defend Rangel, but in a general sense prominent politicians (and other 'stars') are frequently the target of frivolous or vindictive laswuits and criminal charges and it can be bankruptingly expensive to defend against them. |

| #3 It's simpler than that. He's out of money. He broke open the only piggy bank he has left. He has to pay the lawyers, and while I'm guessing here, I'm guessing that most or all of his personal property and funds are encumbered in one way or another. He used the PAC money because that's what is left. |
