16 policemen injured in blast in Dagestan's Kaspiisk |

(Itar-Tass) -- Sixteen coppers were injured as a result of a blast in Dagestan's city of Kaspiisk, ITAR-TASS learnt at the Investigation Committee at the Russian Prosecutor's Office (SKP). It was established that on September 29 an unidentified person set off an bomb filled with pieces of steel wire which was planted on the roadside in A.Sultan Street at the entrance to the city of Kaspiisk where OMON-1 officers of the Interior Ministry for the Republic of Dagestan were on duty at the moment. "As a result of the blast, 16 police officers got shell-shocks and injuries. The state of two of them is estimated as grave," an SKP front man said. According to a source in Dagestan's Interior Ministry, the power of the bomb was equivalent to 200 grams of TNT. Criminal proceedings were instituted. Measures are being taken to establish and detain the criminals who planted the bomb. |
