#11  Can any Islamist snooper advise if a fatwa exists covering the following case of Koran destruction?
First I download from here.
Then I hit delete and send to recycle bin. Then I crunch contents of recycle bin along with some well chosen sacriligious PRON and send the lot into the ether as a sacrifice to God(en)
I know, I've got too much time on my hands.

#9  Civilized truly means knowing what behavior is appropriate for a dinner party and for barbarians. Caesar understood both as did Wellington and Grant.
Times are changing back to hard, so are attitudes.
Seems to me not a moment too soon. Folks inside the beltway need to take note.

#8  I don't know grom, I look at the various postings at this site and read various news sources and it does not seem as if the veneer goes too deep.

#7  The veneer of civilization is thinner

Written by somebody who does not understand civilization.

#6  On 9/11 2010 islamofascists publicly burned the Stars and Stripes in front of the US embassy in London. Police was present, they were not stopped. Rather the police protected them. link

And, since the article is bringing up Afghanistan, we should not forget that the US military burned bibles in Afghanistan with the expressed intent to suppress the message printed in these books.

Have the military or the administration issued an apology for this disrespectful act towards the Holy Book of a world religion?

#5  So instead of dealing with this and settling the questions of freedom of speech and the increasing pervasiveness of Islam in GB, they will simply marginalize them as yobs and pigeonhole the story.

Bout what I'd expect.
But there will be an increasing amount of this behavior. As resources get more and more scarce, people tend to make do for their own group, clan, what have you.

#4  The veneer of civilization is thinner...

Well, I suggest that is the problem: we are only intent on maintaining the veneer of civilization, while ignoring the rotted, worm-ridden wood beneath.

Civilization does not mean the abjuration of force; it means applying it in ways that maximize the number of people who can enjoy peaceful, free lives. The failure to properly deal with the enemies of civilization will be the ruin of civilization.

#3  The veneer of civilization is thinner

Soft lives make soft people. Short term a population can recover but after a few generations I fear not. Our 'best and brightest' are also our softest.

#2  Sounds like folks on both sides of the pond are getting upset with the islamists. The powers that are should take solace in that they only burned the Koran. In France the muzzies like to burn whatever seems to be handy--usually cars. I have a feeling that if the genie is ever let out of the bottle, there is still some Anglo-Saxon and Celtic blood in its people. Just as in America there is the blood of our forefathers and forebearers who created a country. The veneer of civilization is thinner than most people think. People are not that far from pitch forks, ropes, axes, and sickles.
