Outlaw, militant arrested
2010-09-22
[Bangla Daily Star] Police arrested an outlaw and a woman militant in Kushtia and Rangamati districts yesterday and the day before.
No doubt the Rab are letting the police have the first go at them, as a courtesy, and there will be a proper encounter later.
In Kushtia, a listed cadre of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) faction Janajuddho
Bloody Maoists. Old-fashioned remnants of a discredited political system. One would think those who styled themselves as revolutionaries would be careful to ensure their ideas actually are groundbreaking, but clearly one would be wrong.
was arrested and firearms, ammunition and bombs were recovered from his possession yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off,
Mahmoud the Weasel is saving up for the dowries of his granddaughters.
a team from Mirpur police station raided the house of outlaw Korban Ali at Kursha village in Mirpur upazila
No idea where that is, sorry.
and arrested him, reports our correspondent.
Just like that? Amazing!
Police also recovered one LG, two bullets and five bombs from his house.
Bombs? Oh dear. But then, those Maoists always did overdo such things.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirpur police station Mehedi Hasan said Korban was a top cadre of Janajuddho. He was also listed with Mirpur police.

Accused in several cases including two for murder, Korban was a close associate of Siddiq who was a regional leader of Janajuddho. Siddiq was killed in a shootout with police on May 24, police said.
Perhaps Mr. Korban was listed on Mr. Siddiq's cell phone.
In Rangamati, Borkal police yesterday produced a suspected woman militant before the court and the court sent her to Rangamati jail custody rejecting her bail prayer, police and court sources said, reports BSS.

Earlier, police arrested Khadiza in a raid on her house at Islampur under Borkal upazila of the district on Monday.

They also recovered five leaflets from her possession containing invitation for joining the Islamist militant organisation, Hizbul Mahdi.
Oooh, a jihadi instead of a communist, a refreshing change.
On September 13, police arrested six suspected militants including Khadiza's husband, also a former UP member, Khadem Ali from the same village when they were motivating people to join militant organisation Hizbul Mahdi and distributing leaflets and books on jihad, police said.
But Ms Khadiza escaped then, due to the expression of innocence on her lovely face... or at least that part of it which could be seen.
The arrest of Khadiza followed an anti-militancy meeting held at Borkal upazila headquarters of the district on Friday last that asked the members of law enforcing agencies to net the suspected militants and criminals.

The meeting was attended by local political leaders of all parties, imams of all mosques and the elites with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Borkal upazila, Mohammad Saifuddin Ahmed in the chair.

#2  I would hope, upon sober reflection in his jail cell that he could have been 'arrested' by the RAB, would realize that there not only is indeed a God, but that He has extended an untoward measure of Grace towards him.

Of course, some prior sober consideration would have prevented him becoming a commie in the first place.

#1  I've never been to an upazila or a downazila, but I've seen godzilla in a movie.
