On the Advice of the FBI, Cartoonist Molly Norris Disappears From View

Molly Norris who initially declared "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" has gone into hiding on FBI advice.

It's like a witness protection program, except she has to pay for everything. So far she's alive physically but her normal life as a non-Muslim US citizen, living in the US enjoying her rights and freedoms is over.

I expect a similar development for Pastor Jones and Derek Fenton who burned pages from a Koran near Ground Zero on 9/11/2010.

Meanwhile islamofascists in Afghanistan like e.g. the judge and prosecutor in the Rahman apostasy case or the Afghan lawmaker who publicly called for killing converts to Christianity have not been inconvenienced by NATO troops, let alone been appropriately punished.

It wonder if Obama, Gates, Petraeus, Rasmussen, MSLSD, etc can be reached for comment...

PS: If you haven't seen her cartoon already, it's on the linked Wikipedia page. In a sane world this wouldn't trigger the destruction of a life.
I look forward to moderate Muslim congregations standing up to oppose the radicals, like moderate Christian congregations stood up to reject the pastor who planned to burn Korans in Florida. Every group has its radical idiots; its the response of the moderate middle that defines the character of the group for the world to see.

Dear Anguper Hupomosing9418, this isn't quite the right venue for that claim. Beyond the 20% of Americans who speak more than one language at home, the Rantburg crowd tends to be language-rich. I'm probably at the low end of the scale, because at the moment I speak only English fluently, but I learnt to read and write in Hebrew before in English, have been fluent in German, and studied Dutch (Flemish, actually, but my mother has made comments on the difference), Spanish, and a learnt bits of several other languages -- mostly nursery rhymes.

Americans learn languages as needed, not for the mere intellectual exercise -- how many of us know what a pendejo is?

Bobby, I do hope some Muslims stand up on the issue of Ms Norris's disappearance. It's important that they demonstrate understanding of the primacy of the rule of secular law in the public sphere.

#9  There are no moderate muslims. There are the sheep and the inmams or leaders. The sheep are allowed to wander until the inman must reign them in to obey the Koran and destroy all unbelievers so the 12th inmam can return. Muslims who say they are moderate have just been mislead but one day the real leaders will call them to task for what the Koran dictates.

The cultural refusal of Americans to learn foreign languages has been burning us since about 3 July 1754, when George Washington signed a military surrender instrument in French, agreeing to withdraw his forces from Ft. Necessity, which stated that he was guilty of the assassination of a French officer, Jumonville.
Washington later denied this. He said the translation he had been given was not "assassination", but "death of" or "killing." In any event, the French used this propaganda to great advantage in efforts to discredit the English.

#7  Soon after 9/11 after I came up to speed on Islam and Muslims (never really wanted to because I couldn't have cared less on 9/10) I wondered what percentage of Muslims were moderate. I knew it wasn't 100% but thought it might be 90%. Now I truly wonder if there are any. I think the average moderate secretly (or openly) against the West in general and the US in particular. We have a long way to go. I say we because I despair of any change from 'them'. At least my kids will grow up knowing to be wary and to learn as much as possible. I may even learn Arabic just to know what they are really saying.

#6  Moderate Muslims coming to her defense rhetorically would be helpful.

In the end though she's being threatened by foreign powers, and national defense is the federal government's job.

Hence the feds (especially the executive) and NATO for that matter should speak up. Will they defend constitutional rights and freedoms from these foreign powers? Or will the West have to forfeit these rights, to avoid inflaming our moderate Afghan friends for instance?

#3  Small, rural police departments hit big with the discovery that they could troll for pedophiles on the Internet, and the perverts would drive to them to be arrested. This resulted in tiny towns with many major felony arrests. So why not do the same thing for terrorists?

All they need is an isolated cabin, that can be set up as an ambush, then to let it slip out on the Internet that someone like Molly Norris is hid up there--defenseless.

They can get the cooperation of the local people to keep an eye out, so that when a car full of Jihadis and explosives shows up, they can either arrest them or neutralize them.

The local cops might even deputize some prior service combat veterans, to insure that it is not a fair fight.
