An exchange of gunfire in the Akkar town of al-Bahsa erupted Sunday afternoon, the state-run National News Agency reported, adding that the causes behind the incident remain unknown.At once, the army and the Internal Security Forces intervened and launched extensive raiding operations in the area in a bid to arrest the perpetrators.
Earlier Sunday, LBC television reported that a quarrel between locals of the Akkar towns of al-Bahsa and al-Husniyyeh took place and left several maimed.
