#2 My uncle was wounded 4 times in Korea. First at the Inchon landing by a sniper, some time later by another sniper, then by a bayonet, and finally by an artillery shell that put him in the hospital with hemorrhagic fever. He was even in the tail in of WWII. I've got tons of memories from from nearly getting killed by a Mig strafing (a round went right between his legs), "demanding" supplies for the batteries with s .50 (the wouldn't load shells/powder because it was payback and it was lunch), filling 105's with bags of water stones to use as grapeshot against Chinese about to over run their position, to burying kids around Pusan from poisoned candy by the North, but I don't think he ever mentioned Chosin. He was an FO. |
