| Israeli jets bomb Gaza as tanks line up |

| [Iran Press] Israeli warplanes have bombed many targets in the besieged Gaza Strip, damaging several buildings and injuring two Palestinians. Sixteen Israeli warplanes have attacked the coastal strip a few hours before midnight on Thursday, firing at least one rocket into a security compound west of Gaza City, a Press TV correspondent reported. Two other rockets were fired south of Gaza in the town of Rafah injuring two Palestinians. Another rocket was also fired east of Gaza city, he said. Witnesses say they have spotter Israeli tanks along the Gaza border but there is no further detail available, the Press TV correspondent reported. Israeli officials have confirmed that a military operation has taken place in the coastal strip, without giving any further details. The incident happened when the streets of Gaza were packed with people preparing for celebrations of Eid al-Fitr on Friday to mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. |
