| 10 tribesmen killed in Kurram blast |

| [Pak Daily Times] Ten people died and five others were injured in an explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a roadside in Central Kurram Agency, a senior official said. Abdul Hameed Jan, assistant political agent of Central Kurram Agency, told APP that a pickup carrying 16 people from Dohal Rogha to Thall hit an IED in the limits of Central Kurram, killing 10 people, including children and women. The vehicle was completely destroyed. Local administration officials rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. The Pakistani Taliban have threatened to carry out more suicide attacks on government targets in response to US drone strikes in the Tribal Areas. In the last 24 hours, four drone attacks have killed 19 militants. About 150 people have been killed in the last week as terrorists have renewed their attacks, ending a brief lull in violence amid the worst flooding in the country's history. |
