| #4 The British do have Chinook helicopters of varying degrees of age; there have been controversies around the latest batch because they thought they could save money making their own customized digital flight control system, but it unexpectedly wound up costing more. Or something like that. |

| #3 As a side note, I had read, I think on Instapundit, that the Brits even allow Sharia to be used instead of their own law system in some areas of the UK. Don't know how accurate that is, but if true, just goes to show how screwed up they really are and their lack of commitment to freedom. |

| #2 This just seems to be a common thread regarding British troops. What bits I've picked up from Michael Yon is that the British government doesn't support their troops. I mean they cut their defense spending again this year to support their extended dole system. They don't even support them logistically it appears. I the Chinook, or at least I thin it was one, in the background and I wondered if it was US chopper. The Brits don't have enough helos for their troops and often rely on US support. |
