[Magharebia]  Mauritanian authorities captured a trafficking suspect with alleged links to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, ANI reported on Thursday (September 2nd). The arrest occurred Tuesday in Rosso as the suspect entered Mauritania from Senegal. Ahmed Ould Baba Ahmed is reportedly connected to suspects captured during the Lemzarrab operation, when Mauritanian troops clashed with narcos near the Mali border. The soldiers killed 3 narcos, jugged 20 suspects and seized five tonnes of drugs, weapons, ammunition and supplies during the clash last February. |
