| I never doubted this would be coming from the first time I heard of Sheriff Arpaio. It's just despicable that the Feds are on the other side from the public. |

| #9 Reminds me of one asshole commander I had in Korea. EVERYONE who worked with (less ass kissers) hated him. When Desert Storm was gearing up EVERYONE wanted to join his unit even though they knew he was an asshole. Sometimes you need an asshole to get the job done right. Go Sheriff Joe! |

| #7 The "vainglorious power-mad petty tyrant" at least gets his job done. Now the national "vainglorious power-mad petty tyrant" who's jealously pursuing him, can't. Which gets back to a fundamental failure of the Left. Don't ask for power and position if you're incompetent and remain incompetent in its exercise. |

But to the extent that he is a vainglorious power-mad petty tyrant, he's a vainglorious power-mad petty tyrant who does his level best to convince criminals NOT to continue their pursuits of lives of crime. And his level best seems to be better than most. |

| #4 As much as I may agree with the Sheriff on many points, the more I read about him (here's one example with many others on that blog which is written by an AZ resident), the more I think he's vainglorious power-mad petty tyrant, though one with a national fan club. Having said that, I don't trust our current DOJ as far as I can carry the national debt either. |
