| Jamaat for Kashmir tripartite talks |

| (PTI) Separatist outfit Jamaat-e-Islami today favoured tripartite talks for arriving at a lasting and just solution to the lingering Kashmir issue. "We urge the Indian government to initiate tripartite talks involving New Delhi, Pakistan and real representatives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to find a lasting and fair solution to the Kashmir issue," it said. The Jamaat, in a resolution adopted at a meeting of its Majlis-e-Shoora (Advisory Council) here, alleged the rigid attitude of the Central government was responsible for the prevailing situation in the state. The resolution demanded revocation of all "stringent" laws in the state, Jamaat spokesman Zahid Ali said. |
