| 6 Police Die in Attack in Helmand Province |

| [Tolo News] At least 6 police soldiers were killed by unknown gunmen Saturday morning in the southwestern Helmand province "A group of unknown gunmen entered a police checkpoint on Saturday morning in Gerishk district of Helmand province and killed the police soldiers in a mysterious way." Daud Ahmadi, a spokesman for the governor of Helmand, told TOLOnews. An investigation is underway in connection to the incident, he added. Helmand is one of the insecure provinces of Afghanistan, in which Taliban have a great influence. More than 15000 US troops are stationed in the province fighting the increasing Taliban insurgency. |
