| Taliban Capture 9 Police in Western Afghanistan |

| [Tolo News] In clashes between Afghan police forces and Taliban in the western Badghis Province on Tuesday, 9 policemen were arrested. "A group of Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in Mangan area of Bala Morghab district, and kidnapped eight soldiers and a police officer," a local official told TOLOnews on condition of anonymity. Police officials in the west have denied the report. Taliban claim that they have also captured some ammunition in the attack and have put the police check-post on fire. They said the Taliban military council will later make a decision about the captured soldiers. In the past one month, 125 policemen have been killed and 291 others have been wounded in Afghan insurgency attacks. Police check-posts in Bala Morghab district that is bordered by Turkmenistan; have come under insurgency attacks many times before. |
