#4 Good morning indeed. Earthquake this morning in Maryland. Little sucker (3.7), but the cats ran off the bed right before it happened and woke me up. Nothing damaged around here, which is good. We don't exactly do earthquakes in these parts. |

Technically it was the title of Ottoman provincial governors, and before that of tribal sub-chieftanis, but as far as I can tell, it's used like effendi and emir as an indication of flattering respect, translating more as sir than anything. |
