Patrick: Obama critics are 'almost at the level of sedition' | ||||||||
2010-05-25 | ||||||||
Governor Deval Patrick, even as he decried partisanship in Washington, said today that Republican opposition to President Obama's agenda has become so obstinate that it "is almost at the level of sedition."
Patrick said that even "on my worst day, when I'm most frustrated about folks who seem to rooting for failure," he doesn't face anything like the opposition faced by the president. "It seems like child's play compared to what is going on in Washington, where it is almost at the level of sedition, it feels to like me," Patrick said.
After the forum, Patrick explained his remarks. "I think that the number of people in the Grand Old Party who seem to be absolutely committed to saying 'no,' whenever he says 'yes,' no matter what it is, even if it's an idea that they came up with, is just extraordinary," the governor told reporters after the forum. But did the opposition really border on sedition? "That was a rhetorical flourish," Patrick said.
"Apparently our First Amendment rights are only guaranteed if we agree with the tax-and-spend policies of Deval Patrick and Barack Obama,'' Jennifer Nassour, chairwoman of the state GOP, said.

#16 He has to say it. He's gotta keep his moonbat core constituency locked up and away from whatever Green Maoist Stalinist Communist Sandinista candidate decides to come out of the woodwork up here and grab up that hardcore loon 10 or 20 thousand votes... |

#13 Tried posting this but Steve & TW were simultaneously trading blows. I also used the 'thin-skinned' comment. Great minds, logi_cal dear. ;-) Perhaps your next effort will arrive in the hopper first, and then we can trade blows with you, too, in innocent Rantburg fun. |

#12 Well, at least dissent will be patriotic again when the new Congress is sworn. Well, dissent against Congress. We'll have to wait until 1/20/13 for it to be fully patriotic again. |

#11 It's Glenn Beck's fault for going on so much about Wilson and his protofascist solutions to dissent. He made 'em go read the history books, and they started cribbing from the old bastard's playbook. |

#10 Tried posting this but Steve & TW were simultaneously trading blows. I also used the 'thin-skinned' comment. These comments from Patrick are particularly enraging, given that my political 'thought' already has me listed as a 'threat-risk' under DHS definitions... |

#9 Every time Gov. Zero (he had that moniker before the Won did) opens his mouth, he "almost" rises to the level of utter incompetence. |

#8 I don't know about you, Gov, but I'm old enough to remember when dissent was patriotic. In fact, they used to say it was the highest form of patriotism. |

#7 Can't disagree with Zero? But it is O.K. for ACORN to stuff the ballot box, dead to vote, Mickey and Minnie Mouse to vote, the Black Panthers to intimidate at the polls, SEIU member to bite off someone's ear, practice thuggery, show health care down voters throats, etc. Patrick is a complete nitwit. His ignorance is beyond belief. It is more evident each time he opens his mouth. Please, good people of Massachusetts remove him from politics before he does any more damage. While you are at it please remove that other idiot Barney Frank from Congress. He has just about ruined this country with his deals with Fannie, Freddie, and pushing subprime loans. |

#6 For so many years the only resistance and unified NO was with the left. They called Bush - Hitler and on and on and on. They are getting just a mere taste of what they had dished out to Bush and now their panties are a wadded up. Too bad! As for the sedition, it could be called sedition if we were advocating a removal of the constitution and government. What has most of what he called "sedition" folks want is our federal government to take responsibility for their actions, defend our borders, and balance the budget. But lets not let a little thing like responsibility get in the way of a good political party. |

#5 The assumption everyone here is making is that he's referring to the legal sovereign Constitutionally based nation. He's not. His first and only loyalty is to THE party and its power, nation and people be damned. Then the statement, like those of his brethren, make sense. |

#4 We must've read PRAVDA's Artic this AM on Teachers teaching their young wards how to kill/assassinate POTUS BAMMER as per GEOMETRY CLASS, didn't we? |

#3 I can see the desperation in the brownshirt goons that thought they took over. See the protest in front of a banker's personal home for more details. They will get more violent. I'm waiting for the national emergency to have them stop the November elections or to keep the new congressmen from taking office in January. |

#2 Huh. I thought dissent was supposed to be patriotic. Oh, wait, that was BEFORE 1/20/09. |

#1 I can say that Deval Patrick is 'almost' a 'fuckwit', and it's not an insult, see ... Oh my, you almost had to sinktrap yourself there! |
