| [Maghrebia] Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb on Friday (May 14th) posted an audio message from the 78-year-old Frenchman kidnapped last month in Niger, terrorist-monitoring group SITE reported. According to AFP, AQIM also released a photograph of an elderly, bearded man wearing a headscarf, said to be Michel Germaneau. The retired petrol sector engineer for an Algerian company was abducted April 21st along with his Algerian driver and friend Abidine Ouaghi. Ouaghi was released unharmed a week later in Mali. |
