US Leaves Korengal Valley

Troops redeploying out of this dangerous and isolated area along the Pakistani border. We were supposedly there to try to cut a key weapons smuggling route - can't believe we actually succeeded and are pulling out 'mission accomplished.' Are we doing so because of improved Pakistani cooperation on their side? Because even with our increased force level in the country, we need these men more somewhere else? Because we need their long logistics tail more somewhere else? Or just giving up?

#4  problem is I don't see the MSM as ever seeing this as a victory in cutting weapon supply routes but a defeat by having tooconstantly fight them there

#3  Different. sources triangulate the story, if you will. No problem, ryuge.

#2  AP says Korengal, NYT says Korangal. Same place, same discussion.

#1  I posted an article on the same thing minutes later, because I searched the word "Korangal", rather than "Korengal". Sorry.
