Lahore High Court declares Dr. AQ Khan a free man |
2010-03-29 |
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday said that nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is a free man, however he has been barred from talking about nuclear assets or proliferation in any capacity. The Lahore High Court declared Dr. Qadeer Khan a free man while disposing off a petition following the Attorney General's statement that the nuclear scientist is free to go wherever he wanted as long as he informed security about his movements. The federal government said complete security will be provided to Dr. Qadeer Khan and that there are no restrictions on him. Regarding the petition by the federal government about Dr. Qadeer Khan's interview in the Washington Post, his counsel said that an affidavit had already been submitted assuring the court that no such interview was given by the scientist. "Please don't kill me!" |

#6 Khan is a metallurgist, not a physicist. He photocopied the blueprint for an Uranium enrichment centrifuge from his Dutch URENCO employer. He obtained nuclear warhead blueprints from China (trading them the European centrifuge design) and ballistic missile blueprints from North Korea. |

#5 He lived under house arrest, so that the US money flowed in. He never stopped doing business. Khan isn't a great scientist; he is an accomplished thief. Everything he knows about nuke detonation came from labs in NATO countries. There is still a disproportionate number of Muhammads working in our nuclear physics labs. |

#2 Who cares? There are far more important atrocities to concern ourselves with these days such as Israel building another 1500 houses in their capital. Who knows, maybe some contractor in D.C. would even like to build another apartment complex or two. |

#1 If there was ever a dude that James Bond needed to put a few bullets into, it is Dr. Khan, who has done far more than Blofeld ever did to cause possible nuclear wars. |
