Uribe remains cautious about Chávez's call for dialogue
2010-02-27
That's a healthy response ...
Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe Vélez has remained cautious about a proposal made by his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chávez, who has urged Uribe to hold talks in order to improve bilateral relations.

Uribe only said that the relations with his neighboring countries have an influence in the mood of Colombians. "If relations with neighboring countries improve, people are happy while if there is a setback in relations, people become sad and worried," Colombian media said.

Relations between Colombia and Venezuela remain affected because President Hugo Chávez decided to freeze relations in protest against the deployment of US military bases in the neighboring country.
