| Jordanian official was killed in bomb on Afghan CIA base |

| One of the victims of a fatal attack on a CIA base in Afghanistan last week was a Jordanian intelligence official, according to a Monday report in the Washington Post. After the blast, the CIA lowered the bomb's official death toll from eight to seven, the Washington Post reported, claiming that the Jordanian was the eighth victim. Jordan's King Abdullah II and his wife, Rania reportedly attended the official's military funeral on Saturday. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Appears to be a long in the making, targeted hit in retaliation for Pred strikes. The follow-on investigation would certainly make interesting reading. |

| #3 Besoeker - based on the accounts above there were two Jordanians; a Case Officer buried with honors by the Jordanians, and the bomber, described as a "doctor." |

| #1 This, of course, was to be expected. There would be no retaliation if ONLY civilians were being killed, so we must be doing something to hurt them. However, I don't like the way the article seems to imply that the Jordanian was not part of the "death toll". Death toll of Americans, certainly, but there are EIGHT terrorist fighters dead, NOT seven. My condolences to the family and hats off to the Jordanians for getting involved... |
