One Gun Bought Legally At Killeen Store
2009-11-06
Law enforcement officials say a 5.7-millimeter pistol used in the Fort Hood shooting rampage was purchased legally at a Texas gun store.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.
Then why are they discussing it? I mean, I appreciate the information, but even so.
Records indicate Hasan bought the FN 5.7 at store called "Guns Galore" in Killeen, Texas, well before the attack that left 13 people dead. The pistol has been dubbed a "cop killer" by those who have tried to stop its use.

The most powerful type of ammunition for the gun is available only to law enforcement and military personnel. Gun control advocates call it a "cop killer" weapon because that ammo can pierce bulletproof vests, and its use by Mexican drug cartels worries police.

#3  FNH USA makes this 5.7 x 28 pistol. I saw this in Rifleman a a couple of years ago and was intrigued by it. Indeed the 17 cal. is nasty. Not a big slug but a killer.

#2  The media is right. The guns ARE cop killers! They sneak out of the store at night, hunt down the poor police officer and shoot them dead! Just like a snipe hunt! Just more of the anti gun media bullshit. If this guy did this off post where everyone carries a gun he would be swiss cheese and the Texans would be calling it target practice!

#1  That works out to .225, not familiar with that as a Pistol caliber, I recently got to see a .17 cartridge, now that's a nasty small slug, BP Vests wouldn't slow it down a bit.
