Yemen army says it killed 29 Shiite rebels |

![]() Troops killed 12 rebels in clashes on Tuesday in the Harf Sufyan district of Amran province, 70 kilometers (40 miles) north of the capital, the official Saba news agency quoted a commander as saying. The other rebels were killed in several different clashes in Saada province further north, the commander said. The army said it had also destroyed five lorries carrying explosives to the rebels in Saada. Arab League chief Amr Musa discussed the rebellion with President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Sanaa on Tuesday. "Any initiative that tackles the situation in Yemen should be based on that principle to ensure the unity, security and stability of Yemen," Musa said. |
