Obama hardens US stance on North Korean defiance | |
2009-06-07 | |
His patience tested, President Barack Obama on Saturday promised a new and stronger response to defiant North Korea, saying that while he prefers diplomacy he is now taking a "very hard look" at tougher measures. A Pentagon official said no military moves were planned. A very strongly worded note?

#11 TOPIX > NORTH KOREA WARNS SOUTH AGZ "WAR MOVES" [Naval confrontation]; + SOUTH KOREA DRAWS UP COUNTERATTACK PLANS AGZ NORTH + LEE: NO COMPROMISE WITH NORTH KOREA [South has a strong defense]. Also on TOPIX > CLINTON: ANY ATTACK BY IRAN AGZ ISRAEL WOULD BE CONSIDERED AN ATTACK ON THE USA. |

#9 "Stop", or I'll say "Stop" again ..... (yawn) ... Obambi doesn't have a clue how to relate to anyone who isn't already one of his groupies. He doesn't understand that Forrest Gump was just a movie, and the real world doesn't actually work like that. |

#8 It is said that in dictatorships trains run on time. That should help. |

#6 Why doesn't Bambi travel to NORTH Korea, look into Kimmie's eyes, and tell him to stop being such a jerk? That should fix it. How could Kim Jong Il, or whoever is actually in charge in NK resist the One in person? |

#5 A NORK invasion would extend to the closest Yaki Man Du stand and grind to a halt. |

#4 obambi to kimmie - "Don't make me send a letter, whine AND stamp my foot. Don't make me kick Bo or slap michelle..." |

#3 The ROK forces are very, very good. The Norks would get a big surprise if they came south this time. With US air support, the ROK could overrun the north in a very short time. |

#2 Obama should travel to South Korea, eat some tofu, kimchi and bulgogi, and make one of his gloried speeches. That will fix the problem! Just wondering though, with our forces committed in the ME, if and when a war broke out in Korea, would we be overextended? Could the ROK handle it? |

#1 Obama has invested a lot in his self image as Ther One who can bring in the new world. At some point even he will realize that he is substantially powreless to change the behaviour of psychotics. Unlike Carter, his ego is so great that realizing he has been shown to be a fool in front of the entire world, he will lash out. Get the plans ready. |
