Netanyahu says Paleos must accept Israel
2009-05-19
And we know the chances of that ...
WASHINGTON - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday he is ready to resume peace talks with the Palestinians immediately, but any agreement is contingent on their acceptance of IsraelÂ’s right to exist as a Jewish state.

Netanyahu and President Barack Obama met for more than two hours at the White House and focused on Mideast peace talks, IranÂ’s nuclear program and the U.S.-Israeli relationship.

Obama said he expects a positive response from his diplomatic outreach to Iran on stopping its nuclear program by the end of the year. The president said the United States wanted to bring Iran into the world community, but declared “we’re not going to have talks forever.”
Yeah, sure buddy, you don't have a plan 'B' ...
At the same time, Obama said bluntly that it was important that Netanyahu, a hard-liner on peace negotiations with the Palestinians, get back to the negotiating table.
Thus building Iran's position by linking their nuke situation to the unresolvable Israel-Paleo question. Iran thus will keep doing what it's doing, since it works.
While his language was gentle, Obama’s words were notable nonetheless for being made in public. “We have seen progress stalled on this front, and I suggested to the prime minister that he has a historic opportunity to get a serious movement on this issue during his tenure,” Obama said. “That means that all the parties involved have to take seriously obligations that they have previously agreed to.”

Added Obama: “I think that there is no reason why we should not seize this opportunity and this moment.”
He'll just be another US president who failed in the Middle East ...

#13  EoZ is right. The EUniks have frittered away 3 years of fruitless negotiation, now the Big O wants to talk-talk too. Problem in a nutshell is that we are running out of time.

Israel has an existential problem on its hands and has to act to survive, or continue national suicide on the installment plan.

Great leaders make the tough choices among a field of bad alternatives and go for it.

Wimpy leaders make no choices and hope against hope, but in the end, wind up in a giant pile of $h*t.

#12  ISRAEL FORUM > OBAMA TELLS NETANYAHU HE HAS AN IRAN TIMETABLE [EOY = USA will not wait forever for Nucprog talks].

#11  Zionist colonials are certainly at the root of this NS. Zimbabwe aparthied sub-saharan Africa redux anyone?

#10  A disconcerting permutation to EoZ's scenario is that if Bambi cuts off Israel's weapons pipeline, Israel announces that its primary vendor is China from whom it is buying weapons in exchange for technology.

#9  Looks like a plan to me. Move forward to the execution phase EoZ. Time to wrap this kak up and move on.

#8  I hate to say it, but EoZ is 100% correct. Barry just shot himself in the foot for the 57th time in four months. The US should expect a nuclear war in the Muddled East within the year. It's the only way Israel can survive.

#7  I'd like to thank Israel in advance.

#6  Only if we insist on playing by "Anti-Zionists" rules, Elder. It's perfectly possible to take down an (except in parts) medieval country like Iran in the way that will send a message "Don't mess with us" to the rest of the World.

#5  With all respect to the current POTUS let me predict were this weak American stand lead us:
1) within less than six months we are going to attack Iran's Nuclear sites since by then they will have enough enriched Uranium to hide away and be able to assemble warheads any time.
2) I have no idea how we will strike - but strike we will since we cannot tolerate a nuclear Iran and live in constant fear.
3) The strike will be done without any coordination or conset of the US because we cannot trust some pro-islamic pentagon personnel not to leak the details to some Arabs and to keep surprise advantage.
4) The entire world will sit aside doing nothing and publicly and vehemently frothing at the mouth and denounciong Israel with fear of the "arab street", while secretely thanking their gods for not having to do the dirty job.
5) Surprisingly there may be thunderous silence or just lip service ( and possibly some secret support) from Egypt and Saudi Arabia because they are the main loosers from Iranian hegemony in the middle east if we dont decapitate them.
4) Iran, Hizballah, Syria and possibly Hamas, will attack Isreal ( mainly with long and short range missiles- conventional hopefully but also possibly chemical or dirty radioactive bombs) in response to the strike. Lots of casualties are expected as this time the iranian will hit Tel Aviv and Israel Industrial centers and infrastructure. - If this happens Israel will strike back with an all out war, possibly completely decapitating Hamas ( better later than never) and Hizballah, reaching at least Beirut and possibly Damascus.
If this confrontation snowballs I also expect Syria and Iran to be put back into the stone age by full fledged destruction of all military and cyillian infrastructure in Lebanon and Syria.
If the ayatullahs regime does not collapse politically internally as a result of a successful strike - I expect the use of Tactical nuclear weapons to bring them to their knees.

All sides would greatly suffer in such a war but if faught to the end we can sterilize most of our strategic enemies for 50 years which will buy us more time.

6) If Obama punishes Israel by drying the arms pipeline to the Israeli military - we will use strategic nuclear weapons for a long range decisive victory over Iran/Syria axis ( which ironically would greatly help the American situation in Iraq.)

7)There wopuld be a few months period where the world ecomomy goes down the drain due to disruption of oil supplies. This will probably deliver another blow to the tottering US and Eurabian economies and may lead to another recession much worse than the present one.

This looks like a gloomy scenario but most of the civilized world will probably thank us for this act ten years from now.

#4  Hasn't Obama just given Israel a timeline--no recognition by the end of the year means they can commence bombing by then?

#3  IsraelÂ’s right to exist as a Jewish state.
In other words, the Paleos have to give up "the right of return". I don't see it happening. Being militant victims is more important to the Paleos than having their own state. Anyway, we've seen in Gaza how successful they are at running a government...

#2  How many muzzies accept the existence of the USA? Perhaps Barak can answer that question on his upcoming grovelfest to dar al islam.

#1   "We have seen progress stalled on this front,

That would certainly depend upon one's definition of "progress." The wall has pretty well kept them in their cage and the bombings, rockets, and civilian killings have dramatically subsided. The Paleo's a devided and waring between each other. Arms shipments arriving through tunnels and by sea have diminished. I'd call all of that progress.
