Political parties urged to foil conspiracies against Karachi |

![]() "Karachi is our commercial and industrial hub and we need to foil any conspiracy against it," he said in response to a point of order by Senator Zahid Khan and Abdul Rahim Mandokhel. "Some elements want to create hardships for the government by creating unrest in the city," Qamar said and appreciated the role of those political parties in maintaining peace in the city. Senator Zahid Khan, on a point of order, had referred to certain incidents of "plunder, looting and burning the property of Pashtoons." "Some elements were doing this in a planned manner and the government should take cognizance of these incidents," he said. Zahid Khan said as different parties had planned rallies in connection with the May 12, a conspiracy is being hatched by those elements again, who played a gory drama couple of years back. "Our party would prove on May 12 that Karachi belongs to every Pakistani," he said. He also mentioned the "positive role of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali to maintain peace in the city after May 12 killing of Pashtoons in Karachi". He asked the government and the leader of the House to seek report from the provincial government on these issues and inform the House what measures were being taken to maintain peace and law and order. Senator Mandokhel referred to the incidents of burning the vehicles and businesseses and property of Pashtoons in Balochistan and said all this is being done in a planned manner to create unrest. Senator Tahir Mashhadi also demanded a detailed inquiry into the incidents and said such actions were aimed at spoiling the peace of the city. |
