ISLAMABAD: Police arrested 8 persons accused of carrying out attack at the gate of special branch of police near Sitara Market in Islamabad.According to sources, the arrested also include mastermind of the above attack who has been identified as Abu Khalid. He was arrested from Attock.
The investigative team arrested the above persons after collecting information with the help of modern mobile technology.
Two accomplices of Abu Khalid escaped from the scene at the time of raid.
Reports say the group had also planned to carry out firing after the suicide attack in Islamabad but they had to stop due to alert security.
Investigation reveals that the group had operated in Islamabad earlier and that more of its members are still in Atock.
The arrested are said to have links with the banned militant outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and they are under investigation at an unknown place.
