| Norwegian Pakistani arrested on Interpol notice |

| The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a Norwegian of Pakistani origin over charges of committing fraud in Norway. According to FIA officials, Chand Pervez, a resident of Sialkot district, had been living in Norway for 38 years and had returned to Pakistan in January 2008. He was accused of monetary fraud in Norway and Interpol had issued 'red notice' for him following which the FIA and police had been directed to arrest the accused. According to sources in the FIA, the accused was arrested on Tuesday when he was attempting to board a plane for Oslo. The Interpol had been informed of the arrest, the sources said. |
