| A security forces operation continued for the second day in Bar Qambar Khel area of Khyber Agency's Bara tehsil on Sunday. The security forces used helicopter gunships, tanks and armoured vehicles to attack the hideouts of an the Amr Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anilmunkar outfit, destroying a base and a house used by it. No casualties were reported. A peace committee in Bara condemned the operation and the shelling saying tribal elders should have been taken into confidence before the operation. The committee said it was ready to cooperate with the government for the restoration of peace in the area. The peace committee demanded the immediate end of the military operation and the release of people who were arrested during the operation. |
