Bajaur Levies foiled a terrorism bid in Nazkai area of Salarzai tehsil of Khyber Agency and defused a remote-controlled bomb and several mortar shells on Thursday. Sources said the Taliban had planted explosives in Nazkai area near a road.Meanwhile, the Mamoond tribe handed over seven people wanted for allegedly cooperating with the Taliban to the political authorities in a jirga in the agency headquarters, Khar. The jirga demanded the government open roads and restore electricity to the area. Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Jamil told reporters that so far 40 wanted men had been handed over to the political authorities, adding that the political administration had also released 70 persons arrested during an operation.
