Secretary Gates spoke of identifying short-to-medium-term goals for Afghanistan - things that can be achieved in three to five years. "We need to have goals, at least in the near to mid-term, that are achievable," he said. #2 The taliban no longer need Afghanistan - they have the Tribal Agencies. They only reason to continue to fight in Afghanistan is to kill "kuffers" - the US and NATO troops stationed there. No program for peace in South Asia can succeed until it includes the dismemberment of pakistan and the elimination of the division of the Pashtun tribes. Obambi isn't that smart, and from what I've seen, neither are the people working for him. Obama's beginning to make Jimmy Carter look good... |
