Inspector General to look into pro Saudi, pro Chicom appointee
2009-03-05
An independent inspector general will look into the foreign financial ties of Chas W. Freeman Jr. The director of national intelligence, Dennis C. Blair, last Thursday named Mr. Freeman, a veteran former diplomat, to the chairmanship of the National Intelligence Council.

Mr. Freeman has not submitted the financial disclosure forms required of all candidates for senior public positions,
in his case its not what Stocks Mr. Freeman owns, its what countries own stock in Mr. Freeman
according to the general counsel's office of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Nor did Mr. Blair seek the White House's approval before he announced the appointment of Mr. Freeman, said Mr. Blair's spokeswoman, Wendy Morigi.

"The director did not seek the White House's approval," Ms. Morigi said. "In addition to his formal background security investigation, we expect that the White House will undertake the typical vetting associated with senior administration assignments."

#5  Sen Schumer and a few other Dems have called the White House on this.

Chas is likely to be gone in a week.

The IG stuff is probably just a CYA so the White House can tell the Saudis and Chinese that it wasn't their fault that Chas didn't make it.

#4  Doesn't surprise me even a tiny bit, no uncontrolled watchdogs, they must be firmly under leash so they don't unearth anything seriously against Democrats,

"Republicans" ? sic em boy.

Problem is if there's a change to a Republican (Honest) Govt, then the tables are turned, this shows the Dems intend to remain in power forever.
