| #5 ...Sigh...once more for the idiots who keep trying to turn this into another anti-American horror story: Yes, DU gives off dust on impact. Yes, it does give a short-ranged, very brief burst of gamma radiation on impact. And NO, those cannot harm you, because if you are close enough to breathe the dust or absorb the rads, YOU WILL BE DEAD ANYWAYS FROM THE IMPACT. Mike |

| #1 Why were we using depleted Uranium in a bombing campaign in Kosovo? I thought that munition was designed for use against armor? How is DU supposed to cause cancer as just scattered residue of expended munitions? It's a heavy metal and I would not want to be ingesting it, but is it worse than lead, or mercury etc? |
