#9 That picture of her at 88 shows a lady who withstood time unusually well. |

#8 Fitting for someone of her stature to grace Rantburg. Interesting read at the link, I had no idea about any of this. A brief history of Ms. Gish. Thanks Fred |

#6 I doubt there'd be that much of a shock, Golf. Remember the campaign ditty from one of Grover Cleveland's campaigns: “Ma, Ma, Where's My Pa? Gone to the White House—Ha! Ha! Ha!” Cleveland acknowledged and supported his illegitimate child, though. |

#5 I recognize that set, Vanessa in "Blow Up". A really cool movie, she takes her top off. (But if you've never seen the flick be ready for a very weird ending)... |

#3 When Lillian was born Grover Cleveland was President. She lasted barely a month after Bill Clinton was sworn in, the shock must have been too much. |

#2 At sixteen years I was blue ans sad. then father said I should find a lad. So I set out to become a wife, An' found the real love of my life. His name it was Chris, and the last was MacGill. I met him one night pickin' flowers on the hill. He had lots of charm an' a certain kind o' touch, An a certain kind of eagerness that pleased me very much. so there 'neath the moon where romance often springs, I gave him my heart--an' a few other things. I don't know how long that I stayed up on the hill, But the moon had disappeared, and so had Christopher MacGill. Ain't she sweet? You take one more step and I'll recoil myself to death. What do you mean, you'll huff and puff and blow my house down? Go away, you've got the wrong address. They came in pairs. (With sister Dorothy) Lillian went on to live to be 99 years young. (Pictured at 88 years) |
