#28  Golf, the concrete is a classic! Truely demented, HT to you. Your cadets have no idea what they have as an instructor. I just dont get the attraction to Joan, never did, never will. Betty Page, well of course.

#24  I went to an Alice Cooper concert once in the heady daze of my youth. He threw chicken feathers at me.

On the same bill were Sha-na-na and Chicago, before either hit it big.

#23  ^5 to you too, JDB! We should have a "wild youth" open thread here someday. LOL

Also LOL to Golf's "stages of concrete" photo history & Marty Feldman Eyes.

#22  Reminds me of the song, "She's Got Marty Feldman Eyes".

#21  I saw some hawt Bette pics, I'd hit it.

No early Shelly Winters pics? She was smoking in her early days, and apparently used it to the max

#20  (#19) ryuge--

You ain't gonna believe this but I too am a Cramps fan from waaay back (Gravest Hits). Finally saw 'em live with the Screaming Blue Messiahs in Chicago circa 1985. Grave show.

And (#1) FrankG., I too never got the Joan Crawford thing but would've perhaps maybe sorta coulda with Bette. Probably not though.

#19  OMG - Rantburg's finest Frenchman is a fellow fan of the inimitable Cramps?? ^5 A5089!

I once jumped off of the stage at one of their shows under the influence of hallucinogens. It's almost as hard to believe that I survived those days as it is to believe that I would be meeting fellow Cramp-o-philes at Rantburg almost 30 years later! ;-)

#18  I thought Joan Crawford was the psycho whose daughter wrote about her in "Mommie Dearest?"

#16  Totally OT : GolfBravoUSMC, in the bombing vid you posted yesterday, the "Surfing bird" song is credited to the original Trashmen, though I'm almost sure it's the cover by The Cramps, this definitively is the voice of Lux Interior; so, in the name of all that's sacred and of good music, let's give the Greatest Music Band of the world its due.

#15  The reason Joan Crawford and Bette Davis were femme fatales and "chic's of the day" was they were still using cocaine in the coke recipe back then. Now you know the rest of the story.

#10  Does Joan have "Betty Davis eyes"???
Posted by: iIleagle   2009-01-15 11:14

#9  I'm watching you guys.

Watching Joan over the years is like following the life cycle of cement.

Ready Mix

Fresh Poured

Screeted

Hand troweled

Hardened

Cracked

Rubble

#8  Damn.

Thanks guys for making me feel sane (well, about this) after all. Like Nimble, I never got the Bette or Joan thing.
