Ma'an -- Islamic Jihad's leadership said on Sunday night that the movement will not stand down to a hypothetical Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah said that his movement will "fight Israeli tanks, which intend to change the situation in the Gaza Strip by force, through destruction and killing." Shallah told Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV that "Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip was okayed by international, Arab and regional sides aiming to change the current situation in Gaza." He insisted that Israel's "aggression" must stop, the siege on Gaza must come to an end and the crossings must be opened before any positive talks about a ceasefire will be entertained.
