(AKI) - Two bombs exploded in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday, killing six people and wounding about 20 others, police say. An Iraqi police source told the news agency, Voices of Iraq, that the two explosive devices went off almost simultaneously. Ten policemen were also reportedly wounded in the attacks.One of the explosions hit the busy Karrada district, damaging many shops. The other bomb exploded outside the house of the Deputy Oil Minister, Salman Qutob, and he suffered minor injuries.
The number of bomb attacks in Baghdad has fallen in the last year, but an attack on a minister there killed nine people and wounded 20 others two weeks ago.
Meanwhile in a separate incident on Monday, a source in Diyala province told Voices of Iraq that three women from one family were killed in Baquba, northeast of Baghdad, by an armed group suspected of belonging to Al -Qaeda.
