| Zimbabawe: Police arrests some 50 demonstrators |

| (SomaliNet) While Leaders of several southern African countries are meeting in Harare to try to solve the current political impasse in Zimbabwe in a hotel, police arrested approximately 50 demonstrators who had gathered outside to demand that Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai reach an agreement soon so they can solve the country's economic chaos. Mr. Mugabe and Mr. Tsvangirai six weeks ago, agreed to form a government of national unity. However, disagreement over the division of ministerial posts stalled the process. Mr Mugabe's chief negotiator, Patrick Chinamasa, said he was confident that an agreement would be reached soon.- |
