| (VOI) - Iraqi joint security forces on Wednesday arrested al-Qaeda-linked group operatives in the northern province of Ninewa, a military source said. "An Iraqi army and police force captured two fighters from self-proclaimed Iraq's Islamic State in al-Qadisiya district of Talafar town, 60 km west Mosul,"an Iraqi military source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq-Voices of Iraq(VOI) . The source pointed out the arrest operation "was based on information confessed by a detainee captured on Tuesday". Self-proclaimed Iraq's Islamic State is a mantra for seven armed groups that have activities in central and northern Iraqi cites and areas. Al-Qaeda is one of its major groups. |
