Mohmand Agency political authorities on Sunday arrested two journalists released by the Taliban a day earlier, a member of the agency's political authority told Daily Times on condition of anonymity.The Taliban had kidnapped Pir Zubair Shah, Akhtar Soomro and their local facilitator, Malak Abdul Hassan on Friday, before freeing them after intervention from local elders on Saturday evening. All three have been in the custody of the political authorities since their release, the official said.
The official said that while Malak Abdul Hassan had been put transferred to a jail, the two journalists were being detained at an undisclosed location. However, the agency's political agent and assistant political agent were not available for comment.
