| Police forces arrest a kidnapper, border guard in Karbala |

| (VOI) - Police forces on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of kidnapping a woman in Karbala, the province police chief said. “Transport police patrols arrested a man suspected of abducting a woman in southern Karbala,” Brig. Gen. Raid Shakir, Karbala's police chief, told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI). The police chief noted “security forces foiled the kidnapping before the kidnapper forced the woman into the trunk of a blue Opel," adding “the suspect was under investigation to uncover the motives behind the kidnapping." “Karbala emergency battalions captured a suspect in a forgery and conning operation,” Brig. Gen. Shakir also noted. He said “the detained was identified as a non-commissioned border guard in Najaf.” The police official highlighted “the suspect was arrested while receiving money from a person in central Karbala.” |
