A suspected suicide bomber escaped unhurt after a shootout with police in the Rahimabad Police Station limits in Mingora City on Monday, police said. Police officials said that they had put the Rahimabad area on red alert after receiving information that a suspected suicide bomber had entered the area. Police Inspector Mohammad Jan told Daily Times that during a search operation, they came across a man wearing a suicide jacket. Both police and the man opened fire, yet he managed to escape unhurt. The Mingora police foiled another terrorism bid by recovering 120 kg of explosive material from a workshop in the city. Police managed to defuse the explosives. |
