Ninewa, Jun. 15, (VOI) – Four policemen were wounded while foiling a suicide attack by a car bomb targeting a police commander in Ninewa on Sunday, a local official said. "Police forces killed a suicide attacker driving a car bomb, targeting Talkif's police directorate, north Mosul, city," Basim Yaaqob, Talkif district chief, told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq. The local official noted "the suicide bomber was driving a Chevrolet brand vehicle, heading toward the suburb's police directorate”. "Policemen opened fire on him, and detonated the vehicle before it reached them," he added. He conceded "four policemen were wounded in the incident".
Talkif, a predominately Christian district, is regarded as one of the safest zones in Ninewa province. Mosul, capital city of Ninewa province, is 405 km north of Baghdad.
