Opposition figure Michel Aoun says he hopes the government would resign and the opposition would end its sit-in in central Beirut on Friday. In a press conference on Friday, Aoun said the recent developments in Lebanon is a way towards restoring the rule of Constitution and balance of power in the country which had been undermined recently, the Press TV office in Beirut reported. While he had previously warned that the country was in the path of confrontation, the UN Security Council and world powers ignored his warnings, General Aoun added. The leader of the Free Patriotic Movement of Lebanon said he was sure that the Lebanese would resume ordinary life and the sit-in in central Beirut would end. Aoun said he guaranteed that nobody would be hurt and only the officials who had exceeded the boundaries of their responsibilities would be punished. An informed source had earlier told Press TV that Prime Minister Fuad Siniora might resign at 8:00 PM local time. |

#1 Only those government officials who challenged Hezbollah will be punished. Way to go Aoun. |
