![]() The Hangu Aman (peace) jirga and the Kurram Agency political administration are making efforts to negotiate a permanent ceasefire between rival sects. The rival sects announced a temporary ceasefire on Monday in Sadda and Khwarkalay due to the efforts of the jirga and the political administration. However, Sadda and Khwarkalay came under attack late on Monday from the Sangeena, Balish Khel and Ibrahim Zai positions. The resultant battle continued until early on Tuesday. Meanwhile, elders from six Sunni tribes said in a statement that they were peace-loving people and wanted peace in the agency. They demanded the government punish saboteurs of the peace process in the area. |
