| Cheney visits Afghanistan |

| Dick Cheney, the US vice-president, has arrived in Kabul and met Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president. A Cheney spokeswoman said George Bush, the president, asked Cheney to meet Karzai on Thursday in the run-up to a Nato summit next month in Romania. Cheney is also expected to meet US soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. It is his fourth visit to Afghanistan. He visited Iraq earlier this week. |
