| #5 I suspect this is related to the initial call by the muslims for 'dialogue' and the Saudis' attempt to look respectable; essentially a 'put up or shut up' move by the Vatican. Make sure you pay your tax on them, good little dhimis. Accidents happen you know. I don't think so, given the politics of the situation. Also, Dhimmis pay tax if they're the inhabitants of a conquered territory. However, the churches are likely be heavily regulated or subject to direct government control. Like China does... Never going to last. Agreed. |

| #4 The workers will be different than those examples because the Saudi's routinely abuse their workers and take away passports and that sort of thing. Things the west would never do or accept if it was better known. My guess is these "churches" will be very humble, so humble as to appear like normal houses. |

| #3 Christians - mainly foreign workers - account for almost 4% of the Saudi population. Estimates of the number of Roman Catholics range up to 900,000. Gotta love it. The Soddies need foreign workers because they're just as decadent as the Europeans they so despise. Those workers will be just like the Pakistanis in UK. Just like the Turks in Germany. Just like the Algerians in France. Just exactly what the Soddies deserve. Keep turning them screws, Your Holiness. We can dream, can't we? |
