Militants kill US spy: officials
2008-03-15
Militants killed a tribesman after accusing him of working as a US spy in a tribal area bordering Afghanistan, officials said on Friday. The militants shot and then slit the throat of the 30-year-old man, in the latest in a series of executions of people allegedly working for US and NATO forces across the border. His body was dumped on a road in Sham, a town between the North and South Waziristan tribal regions, a security official told AFP on condition of anonymity. “They left a note claiming that he was a US spy, and warning that anyone working for the US will suffer the same fate,” an official said.

#4  Isn't it still winter in those parts? I'd think a dragonfly buzzing around might be a bit noticeable just now... No doubt by spring miniaturization will have proceeded to the point that the fly on the wall will be one of ours. At that point paranoia is a quite reasonable response!

#3  I don't think we're using a bunch of human spies in either Afghanistan or Pakistan. There are so many different ways of getting information that don't involve people we cannot trust with the truth.

The new microbugs that look like insects also help. The plastic dragonfly has a range of 50 miles, and we have them all over Pashtun-held territory. Watch what you say, guys - we're listening.

#2  And the reason we haven't killed bin Laden yet --- he's actually a spy!
