#11 Diyala, and Mosul. There's also some uncleared area south of Baghdad in Arab Jabour. But all are progressing. By the time Gen. P. reports in April, things will be looking WAY up. |

#10 I do believe I'll have my Talibunnies well done-for. If our local media weren't basically traitors they might cover this good news. I'm not holding my fricking breath. |

#9 I just checked: 121 is not a prime number. But it's real close! |

#8 Remarkably high KIA/WIA ratio: 8.6 Gives new meaning to "surrender or die". |

#4 Incredible. They must be dropping like flies. That said, it seems a shame that Reid is not up for re-election and Pelosi is only opposed by Cindy Sheehan. |

#3 You said it all; Of course this would be nice politically but even if it weren't it would be something for which we would give thanks and thanks again. |

#2 Compare this to a military equivalent: 1 Company of enemy dead. 2 Battalions of enemy captured. 92 Enemy "officers" killed or captured. In that so few enemy remain in Iraq, such a loss is devastating to their operations. |

#1 This may be the last operation requiring sustained combat by a huge part of a full US Division. If so, and if the Iraqi Army can keep Diyala and vicinity mostly clean of Al Q when this operation ends (I think the Iraqi Army is already capable against the major Shia goobers), we may actually be able to get the OIF force below the pre surge levels. Of course this would be nice politically but even if it weren't it would be something for which we would give thanks. |
